Our long-standing partnership with Lausanne has proven to be extremely successful in the past. Buses with bodies from HESS have been a fixture of the urban scene in Lausanne since the 1970s. Currently, more than 100 HESS trolleybuses are in service in the city on Lake Geneva, making an important contribution to more sustainable and efficient public transport in Lausanne.

The lighTram® sets new standards in comfort and sustainability. Thanks to its 100% electric drive, it not only provides emission-free mobility, but also barrier-free access, which is of particular benefit to pedestrians, children and people with reduced mobility.

An example of this are the 12 vehicles of type lighTram® 25 DC which have been operating successfully on Route 9 for about four years. This route, which runs from Lutry to Prilly and is used by over six million passengers per year, benefits from the high capacity and efficiency of these innovative vehicles.

For the local transport authority in Lausanne (Transports publics de la région lausannoise), the new order for a total of 51 electric buses represents a further expansion of its vehicle fleet and demonstrates its commitment to sustainable and efficient mobility solutions. HESS is proud to be part of this development and to continue its contribution to promoting public transport in Lausanne.
