The all-electric lighTram® 25 vehicles from HESS are now in service on Brisbane Metro's busy Route 169, running between Eight Mile Plains and UQ Lakes stations.
Thanks to the early commissioning, commuters in Brisbane already have the opportunity to use these modern vehicles – even before the official Metro lines M1 and M2 begin operation.
The lighTram® 25, which operates on Route 169, is the result of a three-year development and testing phase in close cooperation with Brisbane City Council. The vehicle has undergone more than 1,000 hours of intensive testing and sets new standards in capacity, passenger comfort, accessibility, and safety.
We are thrilled that our vehicles are now part of Brisbane’s public transport network, contributing to the advanced Brisbane Metro system.
